What areas can be treated?Virtually any part of the body with sun damage or broken capillaries can be treated safely. The face, chest, shoulders, and arms are the most popular treatment areas because they typically have the most sun exposure. Both discrete spots and skin densely covered with freckles respond well to treatment.
How does the treatment work?The visible light delivered by the Xeo Genesis, is selectively absorbed by the pigmented spots on your skin. It is the heating of the pigmented cells that creates the beneficial effect.
Do I need to arri ve early to apply a numbing cream?No. The Xeo Genesis treatment requires no anesthetic creams or gels before treatment. Gel is messy, time consuming, and uncomfortable. Xeo Genesis therapy is the next generation in pulsed light treatments. No gel!
What do treatments feel like ?When the handpiece is placed on your skin, it feels cool and comfortable. When the pulse of light is delivered, you may feel a mild, brief sting. It is similar to a rubberband snap.
How long will the treatment take?Treatment times vary based on the area to be treated. Since there is no need to apply gel or topical numbing creams, a full face can be done in 45 minures. Spot treatments on hands and other areas only take about 10 minutes.
How many treatments will I need?Typically, one or two treatments are sufficient to see dramatic results. Additional treatments may be required for larger areas, very dark spots or for densely covered areas.
Are these treatments safe?Very! Xeo Genesis has been FDA approved, which means it has been rigorously tested in clinical studies. The pulsed light handpieces were designed to treat only pigment, not the surrounding skin or tissue.
Are there any side effects?Immediately following the treatment, the spots may start to darken. You may notice a slight reddening of the surrounding skin. This typically subsides within a couple of hours. Over the next one to three weeks, darkened spots will fade and flake off. Will the spots reappear over time?No. New spots may appear. These too can be removed. Remember to liberally apply sunscreen when outdoors to minimize sun damage and the appearance of new spots.
