Katrina
Rogers, RYT
Katrina
Rogers, “Kat”, found yoga in 1999. After many jaded years of lifting
weights and cardio machines, Kat decided to try something new.
She walked into her first yoga class thinking it would be a breeze,
little did she know she walked into a Bikram studio! She left
that first class on a cloud. Feeling open and free, she’s been
hooked ever since.
Kat’s
passion for yoga is tremendous. She believes her responsibility,
and reward, as a teacher is to lead her students to a healthier state
- physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Kat is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, and have studied
Vinyasa yoga with Baron Baptiste in Tulum, Mexico. She has
certifications in Shakta Khalsa"s "Radiant Child Yoga Program" and Karen
Prior’s "Let's Play Yoga", both of which are teaching yoga to children.
She is also licensed to teach "Mamaste Yoga", a prenatal yoga
certification.
Paula
Weithman, LCPC, RYT
Paula's
personal passion is an interest in yoga, which she has been studying
since 1976. As a teacher, she is an Iyengar instructor, certified through
Namaste International and accredited through the Yoga Alliance. In her
training she is well versed and has studied with many senior International
teachers within the lineage of Krishnmacharya. She has a strong background
in rehabilitation as whe worked in the physical therapy field for 10
years & is a licensed massage therapist. As a psychotherapist, she
has worked in the Mental Health field since 1982 and is licensed in
the state of Texas as an LPC. She uses yoga philosophy to facilitate
people in developing a stronger relationship with themselves as it relates
to vitality & well being.
Paula's yoga philosophy: It has always brought me great
joy to study the different traditions and aspects of yoga as each style
has its own unique benefit and intention that provides medicine to the
body. As our yoga practice develops, we become aware of our resistances
by observing our attitudes, feelings and behaviors and through that
observation, develop an understanding of our behavior that leads to
appreciation and acceptance within. When we feel good about ourselves,
we feel worthwhile, connected, and able to give to others and know that
our presence makes a contribution in the world. Through self-acceptance
we are able to nurture what we need rather than what we want. Using
yoga as medicine, my intent is for people to feel worthwhile, stay focused
in the present moment, listen from the heart, open space and let our
life force flow.
Thom Allen, LPC, CYT, RYT
Thom began a journey into yoga in 1987, while pursuing a Psychology degree at Howard Payne University. While researching the holistic approaches for reducing stress and improving mental health, Thom began studying Zen meditation, biofeedback, relaxation training, and Hatha yoga. “It was truly synchronicities that lead me to the yoga mat during that point in my life” says Thom, referring to the influence of a psychology professor and personal mentor that inspired his interests.
While completing a Master’s degree in Counseling at the University of North Texas, Thom expanded his personal yoga and meditation practice by joining a Kundalini yoga group. Later as his yoga practice evolved, Thom began studying Power Vinyasa Yoga, which instantly became his passion. After certification training with Beth Shaw of YogaFit International, Thom began teaching classes in both Power Yoga as well as a gentler approach which he calls Bliss Yoga. He has trained with such inspiring teachers as Bryan Kest, Cyndi Lee, Beryl Bender Birch, Baron Baptiste, Manju Jois and Seane Corn, Rod Stryker and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance. He is also trained and experienced in working with special populations such as pre/postnatal women, children, and those with life threatening illnesses.
Thom is an avid athlete and has a devotion to his personal Ashtanga yoga practice. In addition to teaching yoga, both public and private, he is a Certified Fitness Instructor with the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and teaches classes in Advanced Step, Boot camp, Pilates Reformer, Resistance Training, and Kickboxing.
As a licensed professional counselor Thom provides psychotherapy through his company PranaDynamics. Thom strongly believes in creating wellness in one’s mind, body, and spirit.
Tiffanie Mutlu, CYT
Tiffanie’s
journey into Yoga is new and growing; having enjoyed various fitness
activities, her curiosity led her to her first yoga class just a few
years ago. Ever since, she has been an avid student.
Encouraged by her teacher at the
time, Tiffanie became certified in power yoga with John Diminico of AAAI/ISMA.
Since then, she has also trained with Baron Baptiste and Bryan Kest.
Tiffanie believes
yoga nurtures the spirit as well as accesses areas of the body often
overlooked in other fitness activities. For her, it is the “total
package”. While she still has much to learn herself. Tiffanie hopes that
her love for yoga and compassion for others will shine through as a
teacher. Currently, she is pursuing her Yoga Alliance certification with
Purple Lotus.
